Hi Russ, the more I read your posts the more motivated I am getting, problem is it's bloody freezing, pissing down and dark at 4pm. Still, just about managing to ride 4 hours and finish my mid week ride off in the dark. Know exactly what you mean about peeing and drinking and eating gels, gotta practice out training, its not an option to do a few extra km's in the heat of race conditions!! Enjoy Epic looking forward to reading all about it.

Sounds like a cracking ride. Roads are darn rough here in New Zealand as well. You're dead right about peeing attracting cars. I once pulled over to a descrete spot by a gate with a padlock on it and mid flow an elderly lady pulls in with the key to open it. She was quite jolly about it all ;o)
